Barry Town United are pleased to announce the signing of defender Aron Davies.
Born in Cardiff, Davies is a former Welsh youth international at U16, U17 and U19 level and plays as a centre-back.
He began his career in Bristol City’s academy before moving to Fulham in 2015. Davies was made captain of the Under-18 side in his first full season in West London and was also part of the Under-19 team that finished as runners-up in the Dallas Cup.
As he progressed through the ranks at Craven Cottage, Davies made 67 appearances in total for the club’s Under-23 side and regularly trained with the first team squad. He also experienced senior football for the first time on loan at Maidstone United.
The 23-year-old departed Fulham in the summer of 2019 and has spent the last two years in the English non-league system with Maidenhead United and Redditch United. Now he makes the move to Jenner Park to play in the Cymru Premier for the first time.
Gavin Chesterfield said: “I’m delighted to welcome Aron to the club. Aron joins us with an excellent pedigree and coaching background and I’m looking forward to integrating him into the squad at training next week.”
