Chris Hugh signs new Barry Town contract

Barry Town United are delighted to confirm that Chris Hugh has signed a new contract with the football club.

Chris is the latest long-serving player to agree a new deal at Jenner Park, having first signed in the summer of 2016. His debut season in yellow and blue ended in silverware as he helped the team clinch the Welsh League Division One title.

Since then, Chris has established himself as one of the best left-backs in the top flight, carrying out his defensive duties admirably and also providing an attacking threat down the flank – he has eight goals to his name for Barry. His displays have also earned him two caps for the Wales C side.

The 29-year-old is a consistent and reliable performer in the backline, and our playoff semi-final against Caernarfon in May was his 150th appearance for the football club.

Gavin Chesterfield said: “Chris heads into his sixth season with us. He is an attacking full back who perfectly fits our mould and I’m delighted to have him with us for another year.”
