Over the past few seasons the club has grown significantly; with promotion to the JD Welsh Premier League and the opening of our fantastic clubhouse we are now a substantially sized business which requires much work to operate both on and off the field.
Over the coming months we foresee the club growing further and for this to happen successfully our off field structure must reflect our growth on the field. It’s imperative the executive board has the right blend of expertise to take the club forward. To aid this growth Eric Thomas has taken the difficult decision to resign as Chairman of the Club with immediate effect. All at the club would like to thank Eric for his loyalty, hard work and leadership through one of the club’s most difficult times. He steered us through a hugely transitional period which has seen us go from a club without a league to play in to a club competing for Europe. An incredible journey! Eric will remain on the Executive Board and continue as a Director of the club.
Acting swiftly The Executive Board met last night and upon Eric’s suggestion appointed Lyndon Smith and Mark Barrett as Joint Chairman. Both Lyndon and Mark have been a huge part of the club for over 7 years and have contributed significantly both with their time, business expertise and financially as sponsors. Their appointment is a natural progression, their expertise and guidance will ensure the club continues to thrive and grow both on and off the field.
Naturally these appointments will be put forward to members at the AGM in June for formal ratification.
Please join us in thanking Eric for his hard work and welcoming Mark and Lyndon.
