Barry Town United can confirm that our JD Cymru Premier fixture with Penybont on Saturday 12th of October has been postponed.
We are delighted that Sion Spence has joined George Ratcliffe in being called up for the Wales Under-21 squad against Moldova, but with Mo Touray on standby for the game as well, the club have invoked a rule that allows us to postpone a league fixture.
The decision was also made following injuries in our win over Newtown on Saturday, which added to the number of players already sidelined.
Gavin Chesterfield said: “Whilst I know supporters will be disappointed with the postponement of the game, it is fantastic to see both George and Sion selected for international duty. Both have made really good starts to their loan season with us and I’m delighted for them. It’s fantastic also to see FAW staff continuing to look at young players doing well in the JD Cymru Premier.”
The club apologise for any inconvenience caused, and a date for the rearranged fixture will be announced in due course.
