Last month, we revealed our home shirt for the 2020-21 season which gives you the chance to have your name, business, school or club woven into the fabric. The response to the launch has been fantastic, and there’s still time to get involved if you haven’t already.
In the meantime, we have more kit news for you, and another chance to be included in the design process. It’s time to decide on the colour of our away shirt for the new campaign.
Our traditional primary colour, green kits have been prominent throughout our history and will always be a key part of our identity. However, following supporter feedback we have made the decision to move away from this colour for 2020/21.
Fans now have the opportunity to vote for the new away kit colour, and face the age-old choice: Red or Black.
The club have enjoyed huge success in red kits in the past. 2020 marks 65 years since our first ever Welsh Cup final win against Chester, when we wore red. Since then, red has featured on several kits, both home and away. This includes the 1993/94 season when we won the Welsh Cup once more, as well as our most successful European campaign to date in 1996, when we defeated both Dinaburg and Budapest Vasutas in the UEFA Cup. Red was also the away kit for Gavin Chesterfield’s first season in charge in 2007/08.
Meanwhile, the squad have worn a black kit throughout pre-season in the last two years, and this shirt has proven popular and generated significant sales. There is now the opportunity for it to be worn throughout the whole season on the road.
You have until midday on Monday 15 June to pick your favourite, before we reveal the winner soon after.
