Bala Town vs Barry Town United| JD Cymru Premier | Match Preview

This Saturday we travel North to face Bala Town at the Maes Tegid stadium in the JD Cymru Premier League as we look to end our recent run of poor form.

Our opponents find themselves in 4th position in the league after the opening 8 games of the season as we sit in 8th. The Lakesiders have begun the season in fine-form, having only lost one league game thus far. Nevertheless, we were able to hold Bala to a draw at Jenner Park after a hard-fought stalemate on the second matchday of the season.

We have enjoyed success at the Maes Tegid in recent years; notably, a 5-2 win away from home in 2019 which ultimately saw us qualify for the European spaces after what was a triumphant victory. Indeed, we also managed to beat Bala 6-2 at home last season in a memorable match.

Despite some disappointing results of late, our performances have certainly been improving. After we lost to a late goal (3-2) at Flint Town just 2 weeks ago, Gavin Chesterfield noted the ‘honesty and intensity’ that we played with and that he, and the squad, are confident a victory is just around the corner to match our recent performances.

The match on Saturday is certainly of importance and one that will hopefully see a change in fortunes for the Dragons as we head into the second half of the first phase of the JD Cymru Premier League.
