Barry Town United vs Cardiff Met | JD Cymru Premier | Match Preview

Cardiff Metropolitan University visit Jenner Park this Tuesday evening as we look to avenge our 3-0 loss against the Archers in the Welsh Cup just 2 weeks ago.

We go into this game on the back of 3 successive defeats but there is certainly belief amongst the coaching staff and players alike that this Tuesday will see a change in fortunate for the Town. Despite agonisingly losing 3-2 to a late goal at Flint Town United on the weekend, our performance at the Cae Y Castell stadium was one to be ‘proud’ of and Gavin Chesterfield has similarly noted the ‘honesty, intensity and togetherness’ we played with which Gavin and the players will undoubtedly be looking to emulate in this Tuesday’s fixture.

Our opponents come into this game having won 3 out of their last 4 games and in 6th position in the JD Cymru Premier League, just one point ahead of us. Nevertheless, we have had some success against the Archers in recent times in the league, who’ve failed to beat us since 2018. Indeed, last season we were victorious both home (1-0) and away (2-1) against Cardiff Met’.

Looking ahead to the game, Gavin spoke of the fixture as an opportunity for us to ‘respond’ after our Welsh Cup loss to the Archers and that he, and the side, are ‘confident’ we can secure a positive result that would see us move back into the top half of the table.

Your support would be much appreciated by everyone at the club at Jenner Park on Tuesday evening for the 19:45 kick-off.
