Barry Town United vs Newtown | JD Cymru Premier | Match Preview

Last season’s Play off Final winners Newtown AFC visit Jenner Park today with a 14:30 Kick Off as we return to JD Cymru Premier League action.

After the huge disappointment of last week’s 3-0 loss at Cardiff Met in the JD Welsh Cup, the match today gives both Gavin Chesterfield and our players an opportunity to bounce back with a positive result against a Newtown side that currently sit 9th in the table after the opening 6 games of the Premier League season.

Last weekend, Newtown suffered a penalty defeat to Camarthen Town thereby ending their campaign in the JD Welsh Cup. After a promising start to their league campaign, the Robins’ have recorded losses against both Aberystwyth (2-1) and Flint Town (4-1). Nevertheless, the side from Mid-Wales progressed in the Nathaniel MG Cup after a dominant 5-0 win against Caernarfon Town.

This Saturday’s fixture gives Chesterfield and our players an opportunity to get back to winning ways and continue what has been a promising start to our JD Cymru Premier League season.
