After Tuesday night’s triumphant 7-1 victory, this Saturday we travel to The Oval to face a Caernarfon Town side that sit just one place above us in the JD Cymru Premier League table.
Following a somewhat difficult period for the Town in late September, there has been a marked improvement in results and performances of late. In particular, the goals of captain Kayne Mclaggon have been influential in our change of fortunes. Indeed, A brace from our number 7 at Bala Town last weekend saw us secure a 3-3 draw having been 3-1 down at half-time. Similarly, in our Nathaniel MG Cup quarter-final against Pontypridd Town on Tuesday night, Mclaggon bagged himself a hat-trick which helped us on our way to an emphatic 7-1 victory at Jenner Park.
Having lost their last two league games, the Canaries will be eager to use this Saturday’s fixture as an opportunity to gain some much-needed form. Currently, both sides find themselves in the bottom half of the table, and with Caernarfon just one place and 3 points ahead of us, the game on Saturday could be something of a season defining one.
In the previous 3 seasons of the JD Cymru Premier League, our opponents have finished just one place behind us (in 6th, 5th and 4th respectively) meaning that Saturday’s fixture away from home is sure to be a challenge. Yet, after some determined performances of late, Gavin Chesterfield and our players will be confident of a victory this weekend which could see us move into the top half of the JD Cymru Premier League table.
