Cefn Druids vs Barry Town United | JD Cymru Premier | Match Preview

We travel to Wrexham this Saturday (2:30 Kick Off) to face Cefn Druids in the JD Cymru Premier.

Gavin Chesterfield and the players will certainly be looking to gain our first victory of the league season against the Druids on the weekend on the back of a loss (2-1) away at Aberystwyth Town on the opening weekend and a draw (0-0) at home to Bala Town the following Saturday.

The home side have had a difficult start to the season and are also winless going into the game. Their first game of the season ended in defeat (2-0) away at Connah’s Quay, before Niall McGuinesses’ side were comfortably beaten 4-0 at Flint Town last weekend. Cefn Druids’ supporters will be hoping that home advantage this weekend may prompt a change in fortune for the team.

In the same fixture last season, we returned to Barry as winners as a David Cotterill penalty secured a 1-0 win for the Town. Similarly, in the reverse fixture at Jenner Park in the 2020/21 season, we defeated Cefn Druids 4-1 in a game that included a brace from striker Kayne Mclaggon.

The Barry fans supported the team fantastically away at Aberystwyth Town on the opening weekend of the season, and we look forward to seeing the travelling supporters again at The Rock on Saturday. This time, let’s hope the Barry fans return to Barry with smiles on their faces after a win for the Town.
