Vacancy: Physiotherapist / Sports Therapist

Job Description

Barry Town United AFC is looking to appoint a part-time first team Physiotherapist/ Sports Therapist to deliver medical care to all players. 

You will be an integral part of the first team staff; working alongside the coaching team, analysts and strength and conditioning staff.

The successful candidate will need to be able to prioritise, manage caseloads and be an excellent communicator. 

Key Responsibilities

• Assessment, Diagnosis, and management of injuries 

• Prescribe and implement rehabilitation plans.

• Provide pitch side support for training and matches (home and away). Ensure medical notes and records are updated and maintained.

• Liaise with management staff about player injury status, recovery, and rehabilitation

Essential Criteria

• Sports therapy or Physiotherapy degree (BSc Hons)

• HCPC registration or SST registration

• Valid Pitch side Trauma and first aid Qualification

• Excellent communication skills

• Musculoskeletal strapping and taping experience

• Good organisational skills

Desirable

• Experience working within a team environment

• Experience working pitchside

• Full UK Driving License

• IT proficient

• Able to work as part of a team and individually

Renumeration and hours 

Pay commensurate with experience and qualifications. Likely hours of work Tuesday and Thursday evenings 6-9pm and both home and away Game days (usually on Saturdays).

Vacancies: First Team Sports Science and Performance Analysis Internships

We are recruiting for two roles in the first team set up for the 2021/22 season. Please find details below.

Sports Scientist Internship

This role would ideally suit a student or newly qualified individual with a keen interest in player preparation, sport science and football related data. Ideally this person would possess an FAW UEFA B License or equivalent and assist with individual on grass player development sessions.

Key responsibilities:

  • To aid with physical preparation and prehabilitation of our first team players.
  • To lead on GPS device distribution and data management/analysis.

Performance Analyst Internship

Key responsibilities:

  • To record first team games, video edit appropriate materials to aid staff decision making and player learning.
  • The individual will work closely with staff and players to aid individual player development.
  • The appropriate person must be willing to work with Instat and work with centrally generated reports.
  • In conjunction with first team staff the individual will compile reports on upcoming opposition.
